Huang’s work often takes an unexpected approach to his subject with a poetic style, which creates a coincidence of contemplation and interference of the subject he deals with. In ‘Echo’ (2009), a special project made for art magazine ‘Atlantica ’ issue 49-49, Huang adapted the conventional binding design by inserting two pre-programmed sound chips into the first and last pages. As each page wildly opens, the corresponding sound chip is enabled. The first plays a dog barking sound; in return the last gives a whining one. Huang’s re-invention has questioned the awkwardness state of contemporary critique and culture reforms. In ‘Paradise, Going But Nowhere’ (2009), Huang took a hike from the outskirt to city centre. On his way, Huang kept dropping small pieces of food on the ground trying to seduce, collect and transport a small group of mixed wild and urban animals to a new destination. This fairy tale has radically confronted the problematic notion of globalization and post- colonialism within its own poetic scenario.
