Ana Gallardo created Material Descartável (Disposable Material), a mural sculpture, in 2000 and rebuilt it for Biennial 12. Here, the artist ties parsley bouquets to the wall, representing the tools employed by underprivileged women to make abortions in Argentina, as these are illegal and clandestine. Many are the disadvantaged women who die from lack of hygiene. The legalization plan is underway in this country and has been provoking crowds of people to follow the parliament debates. This sculpture by Gallardo represented, at the end of the millennium, one of the main projects about of feminism carried out. This project, #NiUnaMenos, has been gaining strength since 2015, through extensive demonstrations against femicides.
