Sobre o evento

𝒶𝓃𝓉𝒶𝓈 𝒹ℯ 𝓋ℴ𝒸ℯ̂ 𝓂ℯ 𝒶𝓂𝒶𝓇, 𝓁𝒶 𝒿𝒶́ ℯ𝓈𝓉𝒶𝓋𝒶 𝓂ℯ 𝒶𝓂𝒶𝓃𝒹ℴ is a photobook, by Laryssa Machada , which includes photographs exhibited at the 14th Mercosul Biennial. The work takes as its panorama the historical and cultural violence against dissident bodies in Brazil, based on the recovery of memories of affection between women - from a critical and fictional reinterpretation of a history of more than 500 years of invasion, starting with the first record of homophobic violence in the country, in 1614, against an indigenous Tupinambá, ordered by the Catholic Church.

"The construction of these images of love between women invites the eye to see much more than mere representations. They are sparks of a profound change in history, dammed by the hydroelectric dam of colonization. Reforesting the collective imagination, as Geni Nuñez proposes, where our affections and well-being are possible and fulfilled.

Beyond the impediment to exercising their "affective cultures," access to territory and connection with nature were—and are—increasingly reduced by the logic of urbanization. Thus, producing records to fertilize freedoms in extended territories: territory-body, territory-land, territory-collectivity, and the potentialization of these when they meet."

“𝒶𝓃𝓉𝒶𝓈 𝒹ℯ 𝓋ℴ𝒸ℯ̂ 𝓂ℯ 𝒶𝓂𝒶𝓇, 𝓁𝒶 𝒿𝒶́ 𝓯𝓈𝓉𝒶𝓋𝒶 𝓂ℯ 𝒶𝓂𝒶𝓃𝒹ℴ” was desired long before me, by women who lived their loves, their pleasures, before those who arrived from outside to describe them. We continue, collectively building new pages for this History. From this, the invitation for this meeting is to fictionalize and produce writings together.

Meeting at the MACRS Sotero Cosme Gallery, 6th floor of CCMQ.

The activity is free for all audiences but is recommended for LBT women.

Public Programs will provide materials for the activity and a Libras interpreter.
