Screening of the film "What is Ours: Reclaiming the Jungle" (68 min; 2014; Allyson Alapont, Jerry Clode, Murilo Yamanaka)

The Arruaça collective has been together for 11 years, occupying the streets for over a decade with parties, electronic music, and political struggles for the right to the city. This movement isn't exclusive to Porto Alegre: the 2014 documentary "What's Ours: Reclaiming the Jungle" portrays São Paulo's electronic music street party scene, which inspired Arruaça's emergence.

The Arruaça collective screened this film 10 years ago in the small square of the old MM for about 20 people, using a sheet stretched between the trees and a borrowed projector—a gesture small in scale but great in significance. Now, we'll watch the documentary again at the Cinemateca Capitólio, a cultural symbol of the city, celebrating more than a decade of celebration and struggle and reflecting on what remains and what has changed since then.

Tickets will be distributed 30 minutes before the start of the event and must be collected at the Cinemateca Capitólio box office.

Guest panelists: coming soon.
