Sobre o evento

The open panel discussion "Cultural Foundations in Brazil: Sustainability and the Creative Industry" will take place on Wednesday, May 21st, at 7 p.m., in the Ling Institute auditorium. The discussion is jointly sponsored by the Mercosul Biennial Foundation, the Rouanet Institute, and the Ling Institute. Free registration is available at this link . Space is limited.

The conversation about sustainability and the creative industry in the cultural field will feature Sérgio Sá Leitão, journalist and public administrator, Adriana Rouanet, executive director of the Rouanet Institute, Benhur Bortolloto, philosopher, PhD in literature and deputy secretary at SEDAC, and Carolina Rosados dos Santos, manager of the Ling Institute.

The moderator will be Adriano N. de Brito, philosopher and administrative director of the Mercosul Biennial Foundation, who adds: "Culture funding in Brazil faces ups and downs. There are times when resources are plentiful and others when they are scarce. What remains unchanged is the difficulty institutions have in thinking long-term, and this has to do with management capacity and concern for sustainability. This is where this panel comes from, an opportunity to open this discussion."

The meeting will address governance models, fundraising, social impact, and the role of the Rouanet Law as a tool for promoting and structuring institutions—including strategies related to endowment funds.

At the 14th Mercosul Biennial, the Biennial Foundation inaugurated its traveling exhibition at the Rouanet Institute in Tiradentes, Rio de Janeiro. Read more here in the website's news. The Ling Institute has been an important partner of the Biennial for many years.
