MEDIATION
A Sincere Dialogue – Mediation Training Course will take place from July 12 to September 14, 2022, at the UFRGS Cultural Center – registration is now closed. It is aimed at students and professionals who wish to join the event's mediation team. Free of charge and divided into two modules, it will feature 25 in-person meetings, during which practical and theoretical content on mediation in visual arts, education, contemporary art, cultural accessibility, and citizenship will be presented and discussed.
After the registration process, 200 people were pre-selected. They will participate in the first module, consisting of 11 broad discussion sessions on the three major themes of this edition of the Biennial—Trauma, Dream, and Escape—and the actions of the Educational Project under development. They will also undertake practical activities to prepare for the day-to-day work of the Mediation Team.
At the end of this module, the Educational Team selects 90 members plus substitutes to participate in the second module of the training and, in the future, form the Mediation Team of the 13th Mercosur Biennial.
The second module, consisting of 14 meetings, will present theoretical content directed at the specific artistic-pedagogical discussions of the 13th Biennial, in addition to collective research practices and experimental mediated visits, carried out with the educational teams of local visual arts institutions.
The Educational Team is responsible for welcoming and mediating groups scheduled through the Biennial's scheduling system on its various itineraries, as well as assisting spontaneous visitors to exhibitions in the event's exhibition spaces. Mediation itineraries may also include specific routes and activities, such as workshops.
