The open panel “Cultural Foundations in Brazil: Sustainability and the Creative Industry” takes place on Wednesday, May 21 at 7 PM, at the Instituto Ling auditorium.
Admission is free, but registration is required via this link. Applications are limited.
Adriano N. de Brito, philosopher and administrative director of Fundação Bienal do Mercosul, will moderate the discussion.
He adds: "Cultural funding in Brazil goes through highs and lows — there are times of abundance and others of scarcity. What doesn’t change is how difficult it is for institutions to think in the long term, and that has everything to do with management capacity and concerns about sustainability. This is what inspired this panel: an opportunity to open up this conversation."
The event will explore governance models, fundraising strategies, social impact, and the role of the Rouanet Law as a tool for promoting and structuring institutions — including strategies related to endowment funds.
As part of the 14th Bienal do Mercosul, Fundação Bienal launched its touring program with an exhibition at Instituto Rouanet in Tiradentes, RJ. [Read more in the news section of the website.] Instituto Ling has been a key partner of the Bienal for many years.
