Jori Minaya was born in New York but lived in the Dominican Republic 21 years old. She currently lives in the United States, the Global North. Her daily perceptions of stereotyped disconnections and interpretations are a field of the artist's creative exploration. The images of #dominicanwomengooglesearch came from her Google search on the Dominican women. The outcomes are representations in lower resolution, divided into its parts, enlarged the human scale, and printed in a suspended form in the exhibition hall. They are body parts that wear colorful patterns that adapt to the fantasies about the typical characteristics of tropical women for export. The format resembles a collection, and its classification is associated with tropical greenhouses. The accumulation parodies stereotypes, and truisms, in addition to the male imagination over the repeated patterns featuring tropical women.  It’s about decolonizing histories, cultures and already established ideas.
