Brígida Baltar presents at the Biennial 12 an installation that explores her recent personal experiences, marked by hospitalizations that ended up at a bone marrow transplant. The signs of these processes on her skin were transformed into metaphors (bruises, petechiae) that she created during the waiting times of her treatment. The only sculpture that is included, called Irmãos (Brothers), tells about the compatibility with a donor, his brother. This is the so-called Chimerism - the transplanted person is a chimerical being, that is, there is another human being within him that must be unveiled. Delicate and powerful at the same time, these embroideries symbolize the experiences of the sore body and the affections through a thorough translation from the skin colors to the embroidery. They are organic abstractions that concentrate mutation processes, affections, and emotions.
