Between 1979 and 1980, Paz Errázuriz photographed sleeping people in the city of Santiago de Chile. Asleep, men, women, and animals stretch their bodies in a position that dislikes the normality of the city. Captured by the camera, these people, whose senses are still, retell the collective experiences of silence and impossibility. The paralysis of the senses. The series could draw a parallel with the situation of Chile during the dictatorship period (1973-1990). Paz Errázuriz builds a unique archive, in which photography grows distant from portrait to capture a social state of collective affections.
